A present for me...

After working entirely too much for the last several weeks i decided that it was time to buy myself another present... and so i did. After purchasing this particular gift, one that has been on my heart for a very long time, i decided to take it over to my parents house to show it to them. As i walk in the door and tell them i have a new toy that i can't wait to show them my mother promptly interrupts me and confidently states...

"Its a gun."

"Now how would you possibly know that?"
"Because i only see that smile on your face if its a gun or a girl."

Hm... i believe that my mother knows me frighteningly too well. She is also the only person to i can never lie to and get away with it. She once told me that i was the best lier that she knew, but that she could still always tell when i fibbed. After trying a couple of times i eventually just gave up. But that's off the topic...

i bought myself a new gun! It is a .44 cal. black powder, ball and cap, 1851 Navy issue replica. It. Is. Beautiful.

Also pictured is the Savoy humidor i purchased a little while back. As you can see i have been employing it well. There is a bottom row that is stocked with various cigars of a full-bodied blend that need to age a bit longer. The humidor itself holds a maximum of 125-150 cigars... which is good because my friend down in Santiago, Chile informed me that she has found me a cigar shop that sells... um... certain cigars that you... "have a difficult time finding" here in the States. (and i will leave it at that.) SoOo, i will be begging her to bring some (did i say some, i meant dozens...) back to the States with her for me.

On other notes... i recieved my acceptance letter to Oklahoma State University the other day. Classes start in August. If all goes well i should graduate with a Masters in Psych and my LPC within 2, to 2.5 years. After that it is either on to a Doctorate or the Feds. Also, recieved a phone call the other day from a local community theatre. They were in need of someone to play the lead role in "Heaven Can Wait." Someone dropped my name and they offered me the part. In rehearsals now, show opens in June.

Watched Mr and Mrs M's house while they were visiting Raoul and Jayhawk. Mr M left me a note which said, among other things... "Always check glove boxes" and "Bourbon in the cabinet." i just wanted to state for the record that i thought it was extremely wise advise and prompty dra-, er, accepted it.

On that note...

Congratulations on the acceptance letter! Will you be taking classes in T-Town, or going out to Stillwater?

Also, have you thought about the area of research you will concentrate in?

Will you continue to work at the same time, too?

(Sorry for the third degree, but I'm curious.)

The classes will be in town. OSU took over the Greenwood Cultural Center. Now it is OSU-Tulsa. Classes will be for three hours, three times a week. I will be attending them before starting my shift at work. The field is in marriage and family counseling. Upon graduation i will have my LPC (licensed professional counselor).

i sadly won't be able to conduct any evil experiments like my partner in crime up in Washington, but it will help me in helping victims of violent crimes, as well as sweet-talking confessions out of criminals. i would really like to work in sex crimes and helping the victims of sexual abuse.

CONGRATS on being accepted to OSU!!! I am sooo proud of you and happy for you at the same time!

The gun is nice! I have no comment on the humidor as you know my feelings on that little habit of yours... hehe...

I heard about your um... uncomfortable chat with my mom the other day...

I need to see the humidor at some point (not so much the gun). When I'm down there we must discuss the finer points of life... wine, women (or perhaps that should be singular...), song...
really that's about it.

what a bunch of gun & tobacco wimps.
Glock justice is usually good justice. While cigars are dangerous, they sure taste good, but you have to quit in about ten years. Graduate school is the best news of all. Never quit learning.
Mothers are psychic, actually so are most fathers they just don't get as upset about what they read.Quixote might be home for a day or so this weekend or next week. E-mail him to get schedule. Q,B & R's D
